About the event

Join Marion Boyer and Barbara Sabol to discuss books by three contemporary poets. We will begin with Ada Limon’s The Carrying, an eloquent and personal collection of narrative poetry from a National Book Award finalist. In our second session, we’ll move to another National Book Award finalist, Ross Gay’s Catalog of Unabashed Gratitude which NPR’s Tess Taylor says is like one big celebration bursting with joy…in leggy, unexpected ways. In our final session we will discuss Li-Young Lee’s Book of My Nights, a collection of introspective poems written in lyrical language. No matter how familiar you are with poetry we invite you to an open and welcoming conversation. Each session we will also offer generative writing prompts based on our reading.
